If your home has a well, it is recommended you test the water regularly. Public Health offers free well water test kits to individuals who meet the eligibility requirements listed below. These tests cover bacteria, nitrates and several metals. Call (920) 834-7000 to get a test.

Oconto County residents are eligible for a free well water test kit if they meet the following criteria:

• Have a private well.
• Do not live in a mobile home park.
• Do not operate a business (such as a daycare) from this address.
• Have a pregnant woman or a child under age 6 in the home.
